Formed in January 2006, ROWENA COMMUNITY VISION is a coalition of residents, business owners and friends who want
Rowena Avenue in Silver Lake to grow the RIGHT way; in keeping with the scale and character of our community and
with consideration for the wider issues that affect the place we call home.
Our key issues are:
• New commercial development should be in scale with the size of neighboring properties (Beginning with the proposed 64-Unit condo/retail complex)
• Traffic speed-reducing measures (i.e. a median with trees installed on Rowena between Glendale and Hyperion)
• A cross-walk is needed between W. Silver Lake Drive and Hyperion
• A pedestrian and shopper-friendly environment with sufficient parking to support retailers and restaurants
• Set-backs increased between commercial and residential zones
• No franchises, no fast-food chains
